Join us for a wonderful day of discovery. Tiwi Islands are only 2.5 hours by boat from Darwin, yet another world away. Your Tiwi guide meets us on arrival at Wurrumiyanga, the largest community on Bathurst Island. You will learn all about the culture and life in the Tiwi’s and see some of the ceremonies. This tour will bring out the ‘artist’ in you, imagine screen printing your own souvenir!
Depart Darwin on the 2.5 hour cruise to the Tiwi Islands on board our modern SeaLink vessel. Your local Tiwi guide will meet you on arrival at Wurrumiyanga, the largest community on Bathurst Island.
This leisurely walking tour visits the art centre, the museum and the historic mission precinct, your guide telling stories of life and culture in the Tiwi's.
The art centre of Tiwi Design is the first stop of the day where you will be invited to witness a genuine Tiwi welcome with totem dances and smoking ceremony. Sit down for morning tea with the artists before strolling over to the museum and mission precinct.
After lunch at the art centre, participate in a 'behind-the-scenes' screen printing workshop with local artists. Choose from contemporary or traditional Tiwi designs to print onto your t-shirt or tea towel - a wonderful souvenir of your Tiwi visit. There is plenty of time to meet and talk with local people and connect with the Island's culture.

Please check in at Cullen Bay Ferry Terminal at 7:30am for an 8:00am departure. Cullen Bay is a 5 minute drive from Darwin CBD. There is free all day parking, catch the number 14 bus or a taxi will cost approximately $10.
