Join ‘Colours of Kakadu’ as ethical adventures journeys into the heart of indigenous culture in the Top End. Surrounded by the internationally significant World Heritage national park of Kakadu, witness the countless centuries of human endeavour carefully recorded on this ancient landscape.

Including Ubirr, Nourlangie, Anbanbang Billabong, Warradjan Culture centre, Bowali centre and local indigenous guides and cruises ‘Colours of Kakadu’ is ethical adventures way of introducing you to the people, culture and history of indigenous Australians.

OVERVIEW
Day 1 of our 2 Day experience sees us first visiting Fogg Dam for a sunrise wildlife experiences before moving on to Kakadu where we mainly focus on indigenous aspects for the rest of the day and how they lived and interacted in the environment.
As a feature of this we will:
• Visit Bowali information centre
• Mid afternoon see is back in Jabiru where we finish off with a 30 min scenic flight in a light aircraft along the magnificent escarpment country.
• join the Guluyambi culture and nature cruise on the East Alligator River
• undertake a private indigenous guided tour of Ubirr Rock Art site culminating in Sunset on Ubirr overlooking the Arnhem Floodplains below.
Dinner will be at Anbinik restaurant which is located a short walk from your accommodation. Expect to be having dinner around 8 pm after we get back from sunset. Please note that dinner is included in the package (see below for what the package includes).
Accommodation will be at Anbinik in the Suites. Anbinik is owned and operated by the Djabulukgu Association Incorporated representing the Traditional Owners of Northern Kakadu and parts of Western Arnhem Land.
Day 2 will be an early start to travel to Cooinda to join the sunrise wetland cruise
Breakfast will be after the cruise and will be a buffet with hot and cold options at the Cooinda resort. Following this we will visit the Warradjan Culture Centre before making our way to Annbangbang Billabong for lunch and a walk amongst the stunning aboriginal rock art of Nourlangie.
All going according to plan should have us back in Darwin around 7 pm on Day 2.

Tips for the tour
Washing
It is unlikely that you will have time to clean clothes during the 2 days although there is a washing facility at Anbinik (Day 1).
Shopping
Once we leave Darwin there is limited time to shop however we will be staying in the township of Jabiru in Kakadu so will have access if required.
Daily Activity Requirements
During the course of the 2 days you can expect to swim, walk over uneven ground at time when temperatures will exceed 32 degrees C. To allow for safe fun to be had by all the following is required:
• Hats
• Sturdy walking shoes
• Towels
• Light clothing
• Camera
We will supply all sunscreens, insect repellents and a water bottle.
Our sunscreens and repellents are environmentally friendly options which work for most situations up here however if you feel you have your own which you are comfortable with then by all means bring it along.
Baggage
Please limit your baggage to a small backpack (10kg). You should be able to store any excess in your hotel in Darwin whilst you are away for the night. Check with them prior to booking your room.
Suggested Clothing
Cargo Shorts – 1, T-shirts – 3, Long Sleeve shirt – 1, Jocks & Socks – your call, swimmers.
I walk in Shorts and long sleeve shirt and boots.
Mobile Reception
There is patchy reception throughout the 2 days although you will not have any at either camping location.
Medications
Please bring all prescription medication with you for this tour and inform us of any relevant health issues.
Weather and Climate
August / September can be warmish (25-34 DC) with some humidity. There are also possibilities of storms although these tend to be rare and of a tropical nature so that they are not unpleasant to be in.

Hazards
The Top End does have many animals and plants which can potentially cause injury or death. These include but not limited to:
• Snakes (king brown, death adders)
• Crocodiles (Saltie)
• Scorpions
• Spiders (red back, mouse spiders)
• Fish (catfish)
• Sharks
• Strychnine tree
Due to high humidity and temperatures there is also a need to be aware of both heat exhaustion and sun exposure.
