If you want to experience the thrill of surfing but don’t know where to start, this is the perfect adventure for you!
• Spend two hours learning to surf on one of the country’s best beaches
• Learn from friendly, professional surfing instructors who are qualified in both first aid and surf lifesaving
• Acquire practical surfing skills and get hands on experience – you’ll likely be standing unaided by the end of your lesson!
• Have a fun, exciting time, no matter what your age or skill level
You’ll meet your friendly ‘surf guru’ at 10 am or 2 pm at our shop at the beach end of Cavill Avenue in the heart of Surfers Paradise (please be at the shop 15 minutes before your lesson). You’ll then head down to the beach and get an introduction to your board and how to use it, with a safety and basics brief out of the water. Then, you’ll wade in to the pleasantly warm, waist deep surf to experience the wonders of surfing!
Your surfing coach will teach you the ins and outs of paddling out, the transition from laying on your board to standing up, as well as how to stay upright once you are standing. Afterwards, you’ll hit the waves and put all you’ve learned to good use! From then on, you’ll be honing all your new surfing skills in order to catch your first real wave whilst standing upright! In fact, you’re all but guaranteed to be able to stand up by the end of your two-hour lesson!
This surf school has been operating since 1987, with around 50,000 people learning how to surf through them every year. Whether you’re eight or eighty, you’ll love the easy to understand lessons and the feeling of riding your first wave on one of Australia’s best beaches, all supervised by instructors who are qualified in first aid and surf lifesaving.
