If you have always wanted to learn to dive, then there is only one location in the world to do it, the outer Great Barrier Reef. Over the course of 5 days you will have completed your PADI "Open Water" dive course and had the priceless experience of "liveaboard" diving on the Great Barrier Reef. You will have up to 9 dives with one of them being a night dive. This is an amazing experience, once in a lifetime so don't miss out. We want to show you our spectacular backyard!
There is no better place to Learn to Dive than Australia's Great Barrier Reef! If you are thinking about taking the plunge our 5 day PADI "Open Water" dive course is the most popular way to do it. The adventure of learning to dive as well as staying out on the Great Barrier Reef for 3 days and 2 nights on one of our premium liveaboard vessels is quite unique and the adventure of a lifetime.
Your 5 Day PADI Learn to Dive Course is broken down into two components - 2 days of classroom and pool and training at our PADI 5 star training facility in Cairns and then a 3 Day 2 night liveaboard dive trip to some of the best Outer Barrier Reef dive sites available.
You'll have the opportunity to dive on a variety of our 16 exclusive dive sites on the outer Great Barrier Reef. Your first 4 dives will complete your open water certification and then as a certified diver you are able to undertake up to 5 more recreational or pleasure dives. One of these dives is a guided night dive!

Includes your open water manual, passport photos, all gear hire, up to 9 dives on the Outer Reef (4 training dives + up to 5 pleasure dives), 2 nights accommodation and all meals whilst on our ScubaPro Vessel, Cairns and Northern Beaches accommodation transfers (to as far north as Palm Cove).
Digital Camera Hire is available on board for AUD$35 per dive - includes images on an SD card. Please note that you will not be able to hire a camera during your training dives.
Course Starts Day 1 and 2 at approximately - 8.30am and ends about 5.30pm
Vessel departure for 3 day/2night liveaboard dive trip is at 7am on Day 3 and returns approximately 3:30pm on Day 5

Cairns and Cairns Beaches
Cairns and Northern Beaches accommodation transfers (to as far north as Palm Cove) are included, please advise your accommodation place at the time of booking. If you don't know your pick up place prior to your course commencement you will need to make your own way to our training centre located at 116 Spence Street, Cairns for an 08:30am start.
Swimmers, Towels, sunscreen, money for lunch (for the first two days), your dive medical (if required), we also recommend that passengers only bring a small overnight style bag on the boat. Large suitcases / backpacks can be stored Free of Charge at our Pro Dive Cairns retail shop.
An additional fee of $85.00 per person is payable direct to Pro Dive. This fee consists of a Government Environmental Charge as well as a Port Departure Tax, Fuel levy and administration charges. This charge is applicable to all passengers travelling on all Dive Courses combining the 3 Day liveaboard trip.

Children must be a minimum 12 years old to be able to learn to dive with Pro Dive Cairns.
Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.
Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. For example: heart disease, asthma, epilepsy or diabetes. If you are unsure of a particular medical condition, please check with us prior to reservation. If you do require a dive medical, this must be done prior to starting the course and must be valid with 90 days of course commencement.
Please note that towels are not included - we recommend that you bring along two towels each (one of the ocean and one for showering).
